Associate Pastor of Spiritual Life
As a trained Specialized Transition Minister, Steve will be involved in many normal pastoral roles such as preaching and providing leadership along with the Consistory and staff.

Steve grew up in Zeeland and met hiswife Joy when they both served as camp counselors at Cran Hill Ranch. After graduating from Hope College and Western Theological Seminary, he served a church in Iowa (9 years) and Byron Center (10 years) before moving into Transition Ministry.
Pastor Louis is our Associate Pastor of Spiritual Life. He is responsible for developing and maintaining programs that deepen the spiritual life members. He will also assist in preaching and administrating the sacraments.
Louis grew up in Zeeland, Michigan and is a Hope College graduate. He has a long history of working in the church, working at Camp Geneva, leading the youth, and pastoring as well. He loves to cook and spend time outside. Louis really enjoys walking his beautiful golden retriever, Rev.

Taylor Midkiff
Director of Youth Ministry
Taylor is our Director of Youth Ministries. He is responsible for developing and maintaining the spiritual life of both middle school and high school students. Taylor has a deep passion to see students take ownership of their own faith, and to help them grow into passionate, educated leaders.

Taylor grew up in Fort Worth, TX, and is a proud TCU graduate. Taylor received his undergraduate degree in Film, Television, and Digital media. Taylor received his Masters in Youth and Family Ministries from Denver Seminary.

Taylor enjoys reading, playing any sport you can think of, getting outside, playing board games, and most of all, spending time with his wife Steph and their sons.
Rev. Meghan Vanderlee
Pastor of Children's Ministries
Pastor Meghan is our Pastor of Children's Ministries. She is responsible for growing and encouraging the spiritual life of the children at First. She is passionate about seeing children come to know who God is, making faith their own, and growing their gifts as a part of the church body.
Meghan grew up in Northwest Indiana and moved to Holland when she attended Hope College. She then attended Western Theological Seminary and has years of experience in children's and youth ministries. She is passionate about reading, photography, and the Chicago Cubs.
Elizabeth West
Organist
For 30 years I have served as an organist for churches of various denominations, and I love to facilitate worship, especially congregational singing. At the University of Michigan, I earned graduate degrees in organ performance, including courses in church music. In addition to church work, since 2001 I have accompanied in the music department at Hope College, and I also taught music courses and organ part-time at Hope and Cornerstone for 12 years. I particularly enjoy teaching organ lessons to private students aged 8-95.

After a 20-year hiatus in Byron Center, we moved back to Holland last October to the North side.
Making quality music with like-minded people has been our pleasure over the years.

We have three adult children: Samantha is a 6th Grade teacher in California; Nick and his wife Katie live and work in Grand Rapids.

Kids Hope Director
Sarah is the Kids Hope Director at First Reformed Church. She recruits, trains, and matches volunteers with elementary-aged students in need of a tutor/mentor.

Thom Samuelson
Lead Custodian
Thom began working for the church in June of 2000.
Thom has been married to Linda since 1975. They have two married children and four grandchildren.
He is in charge of cleaning, repairs, maintenance, setups, and Audio/Video. Thom is blessed to direct a dedicated crew of paid staff and volunteers that bring glory to God.
Libby Riemersma
Office Manager
Libby is our full time office manager. She is the central hub of our communications and data processing.
As calling pastors, we are privileged to meet with church members who find it difficult to attend services or who have gone through a major life change. Even though one may not be physically present for services, it is important that members know that they are still a part of the church and are valued.
